Move 1

  • Most played move by those who don't think as in depth about the game

  • Only play on move one if you are at least 66% sure the opponent will play paper

  • Somewhat aggressive

  • Second most common move and most common for people trying to think one step ahead

  • Suggested first move since statistically you should either tie or win

  • The Most aggressive move and very common with people trying to appear hard (fist)

  • Least common and typically played only by those trying to be different or in an attempt to outsmart rock players

  • Only play against a player you are 50% sure will play paper or rock

  • Somehow viewed as less aggressive despite being an equal move to the two others (think of opponent and if they're a one step player rather than an overthinker)

Other strategies for move one:

  1. Be completely random it will always be a 33% chance of victory, 33% chance of a loss and a 33% chance of a draw meaning statistically your unlikely to actually lose. Despite this humans are physically incapable of being random so many people will resort to one move and overthink regardless so use a number that is truly random such as pi. assuming rock paper scissors in that order - 1,4,7 - rock , 2,5,8 - paper and 3,6,9 - scissors

-Best counter is to also be random or find the pattern and predict

  1. say you'll do one thing then actually follow through with it, do the same thing next, then again and then on the fourth move switch to what beats the counter for what you say. ex. "I'm going paper." followed by rock>scissors

-Best counter to somebody saying something is to play exactly what they say until thy figure out what you're doing. ex. other - "I'm going scissors." scissors = scissors until "I'm going paper" rock<paper
